Healthy Holiday Drinks

Spiced Hot Toddy
Serves 6 — 5oz drinks

1 quart Light Soy milk
1 vanilla bean — split with seed scraped out
2 cinnamon sticks
1 TBSP honey
1 whole Nutmeg

Place soy milk w/vanilla bean and cinnamon sticks in sauce pan, bring just to simmer, insuring not to boil. Remove from heat. Add honey.
Allow the spices to steep for 10 minutes.
Transfer all the ingredients to a French press and press all spices down to the bottom.
Froth the toddy by carefully pumping up and down on the press, divide among 6 tea cups

Grate fresh Nutmeg over the Toddy, serve immediately.

1.5 grams of fat
6 grams of protein
12 grams carbs

Green Tea & Rosemary Sparkler
Makes 1 — 12 oz serving

1 bag – Favorite Green Tea
2 inch stalk of Lemongrass (can substitute a lemon wedge)
1 stem of rosemary — small sprig removed from the top reserved
4 oz hot water

8 oz favorite sparkling water
Ice cubes (optional)
Artificial sweetener (optional)

Steep the tea bag in the 4 oz of hot water with the lemongrass and the rosemary. Remove the teabag after 3 minutes let the herbs remain until the water reaches room temperature.
Strain tea into a tall glass over ice and sweetener (optional)
Add the 8 oz of bubbly water and a sprig of rosemary for garnish

Matcha Green Tea Frappe Recipe by: Renee Loux

1 cup raw almonds, soaked 8 hours
4 cups fresh coconut water
2 tbs matcha green tea powder
2 tbs palm sugar
1 vanilla bean, scraped
1 pinch sea salt
handful of ice made from filtered, alkaline or coconut water.

Place soaked, drained almonds in a blender with the coconut water and blend at high speed until smooth. Pour through a nut mylk bag, fine strainer, or sieve and extract as much liquid as possible.

Return the strained almond mylk to the blender and add matcha green tea powder, palm sugar, vanilla and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth. Add ice and blend again until smooth and frothy. Serve immediately.

Anthony Burgess writes in ‘The Book of Tea’ that “the lower orders, given tea in a pot with thimble-sized cups in a Chinese restaurant, accept the exotic bestowal but do not take it seriously”. Orwell writes in the 1946 essay ‘A nice cup of tea’: “One does not feel wiser, braver or more optimistic after drinking [China tea]“.

The pair are united in their opposition to teabags. The teabag, says Burgess, is “a travesty of the loaded spoon and its aromatic heap of the real thing”. Orwell is similarly dogmatic: “The tea should be put straight into the pot. No strainers, muslin bags or other devices to imprison the tea.”

Burgess states: “In World War II…the commissioned officers took their tea in upper-class china in the mess while the rest of the army was issued with a mug that held half a litre of tea brewed coarsely in a bucket, flavoured with cigarette ash or even rhinoid mucus.”

Here is Burgess on his favourite brand of tea: “Most tea addicts of humble origins, such as myself, will opt for Twining’s Irish Breakfast….The drawing rooms of the ruling class prefer the perfume of Earl Grey.”

i know most people are “drippers” but with my 510 i’m still a cart user , and this mod has been treating me just fine , it is a variation of the PTB mod that xLowendx and d0kieSmok invented

Rather than putting the shredded end into the cart , i have been putting the shredded end up , so it comes in contact with the atomizer bridge. it has been working really well for me.

i have also tried the “auto drip” mod using a spring and a poly fill plug , with little success , i’m sticking by this PTB mod for the meantime.

i’m always on the lookout for a good 510 cart filler , so if you have any suggestions , send them over my way.
